A northeast Ohio non-profit is looking for donations of music memorabilia and experiences for a silent auction to raise money for struggling live music venues.
The coronavirus pandemic has hit the entertainment industry hard. Live music venues that don't serve food, and rely solely on admission fees and drink sales during perfomances, have been without income since the spring. And it's not only the venues that are hurting, but their employees as well.
Organizers of the silent auction - Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present & Future - are asking people to donate any music souvenirs they may have collected, or experiences like a private performance or music lessons, to be auctioned off, so the proceeds can be passed on to northeast Ohio music venues in hopes of keeping them afloat.
The group is collecting donations through their website at... https://clevelandrocksppf.org/archive-of-exhibitions/
The deadline for donations is October 22nd. The auction will be held online in November.
