Stay warm! ❄️The City of Akron will extend hours at Summit Lake Community Center (380 W. Crosier St.) on Saturday, Feb. 7 and Sunday, Feb. 8 to provide a warming center for residents in need. Summit Lake Community Center will be open between 8am and 7pm those days. To receive alerts about the city’s warming centers to your phone or email, you can sign up using CodeRED.
The city will continue to monitor temperatures and will extend community center hours as necessary. Unless otherwise specified, the centers will return to their normal business hours starting Monday, Feb. 9.
The Emergency Overnight Warming Center located at 111 East Voris St. will be open from 7pm to 8am on Fri. Feb. 6, Sat. Feb. 7, Sun. Feb. 8, and Mon. Feb. 9.
