Vivian Campbell makes statement & Fire Marshalls shut down intimate show
Def Leppard guitarist, Vivian Campbell has revealed that he is 2-months into chemo treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was diagnosed at the beginning of the band's Las Vegas residency in March. He says he's "feeling rather spiffy, all things considered. Hodgkin's has an over 80% cure rate, so by my reckoning, if you're going to have cancer, Hodgie's is the one to have!" Campbell said the main reason he has come out is because he fully intends to continue touring with the band, and he is now super bald - so he wanted to warn every one.
Fire Marshalls shut down Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers Saturday night at Fonda Theater in LA. They say the 1200 capacity venue was 100 people over the limit and shut things down with just 6 songs left in the set. They're lucky they didn't have a 1300 person riot on their hands, because you know those were the 6 songs everyone had been waiting for all night! Petty says his people are looking into the issue, because according to the venue & ticketmaster, they we not over capacity, but many fans are skeptical. They claim the venue started selling tickets to everyone who walked up that night.
