Harrell was intoxicated and on drugs at time of arrest
3 Doors Down bassist, Todd Harrell, was arrested Friday night after running a pickup off I40 in Tennessee causing the death of the truck's driver. Robert Todd Harrell, 41, remained jailed Saturday evening on $100,000 bond on charges of vehicular homicide while intoxicated, drug possession, violating implied consent laws and bringing contraband into a jail, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office. Harrell was drunk behind the wheel of his Cadillac CTS when he ran the truck into a guard rail, causing it to flip off an embankment. The driver of the truck, not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from his vehicle and later died from his injuries. Cops found Harrell about 1/4 mile down the road, where he had hit a retaining wall. He failed his sobriety test and admitted to drinking hard cider and taking the prescription painkiller Lortab and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax. Later, police said, they found eight Xanax pills and 28 prescription painkiller pills — 24 Oxycodones and four Oxymorphones — when they booked him at the jail. He's due in court Thursday. No word yet on how all this will affect the band's touring. They're set to hit Jacob's Pavilion at Nautica on August 3rd.
Chrissy Amphlett, the raunchy lead singer of the Australian rock band Divinyls who hit it big with "I Touch Myself" in the early 1990s, died at her home in New York City on Sunday after a long battle with MS and breast cancer. She was 53 years old.
